Jack Geldard

Founder & CEO

Jack believed the Chamonix outdoor community deserved great beer. A qualified international Mountain Guide and former national-level climbing competitor, his background blends professional climbing with digital journalism. Climbing adventures in the US opened his taste buds to the booming craft beer scene and its bold new styles. Inspired, he knew that his mission was to recreate that in Europe’s mountain paradise of Chamonix. He set to work home-brewing and Big Mountain Brewing Co. was born. Favourite beer: Session IPA

Tiffanie Favrat

Head of Sales

Tiff is our Head of Sales with unlimited energy for the brand and our beers. After completing her Master’s in Business at Chambéry, she joined Big Mountain in 2018 to help Jack grow the business - and quickly became a driving force in our commercial growth. Today, she leads the sales team with a deep understanding of our customers. Outside of work, Tiff is always pushing her limits - from ski-mountaineering and climbing to paragliding. Favorite beer: Breakfast Stout.

Céline Mansis

Direct Customer Sales Manager

Céline is originally from Cluses. She worked in radio advertising sales for 15 years before realising her true destiny: beer. Always positive and super smiley, Céline brings energy to the Big Mountain sales team has great relationships with her customers, and loves meeting new people at our events and tasting sessions. Céline loves pilates, trail running, art, and live music. Favorite beer: Session IPA

Mike Glen

Head Brewer

Originally from Australia, Mike fell in love with beer while living in the Canadian Rockies - bartending, snowboarding and home-brewing his first beer in 2014. He’s a Certified Cicerone® and holds a Diploma in Brewing from the CIBD. He started his brewing career at Harvey’s Brewery in Lewes then worked as a Senior Brewer at Northern Monk in Leeds, before taking on the Head Brewer role at a famous brewpub on the Great Ocean Road in Australia. Mike has now taken on our Head Brewer role - leading our team of experienced brewers as they pursue technical and creative perfection.

Greg Sharpe

Brewer

Brewing beer or mountain biking - what does Greg love more? Fortunately, working for Big Mountain and living in Chamonix and he can balance both his passions. Greg has many years of experience in the beer world: from brewing and delivering cask ale in the UK to managing pubs. Always ready with a smile, his chilled presence keeps the brew floor running smoothly. Favorite beer: Rye IPA

Barney Davies

Brewer

Barney came to Chamonix with one mission: to ski. Now he’s got a second — brewing great beer. A long-time local, he’s managed some of the town’s most iconic bars, including Bar’d Up. He’s now part of the Big Mountain brewing team, combining hands-on experience with formal training - and yes, he’s the man behind the now-legendary Barney’s Brown Ale. Favourite beer: Barney’s Brown Ale (obviously)

Xavier Constans

Brewer

Taz is our French brewer, here to proudly represent everything great about French beer. He’s part of our international brewing team, bringing passion, precision and plenty of personality to the mix. When he’s not brewing, you’ll find him on the basketball court. Favourite beer: Rye IPA

Quentin Magos

Brewer

Freespirit Quentin is a French force of nature, balancing his love for beer and the wild outdoor life. He’s been a film-set painter and a mountain refuge-keeper’s assistant, and you’ll find him skiing and snowboarding as much as possible. He’s a big fan of Big Mountain IPA because it’s super balanced and refreshing and contains his favorite hop: Simcoe. Favorite beer: IPA

Hugues Chabod

Delivery Co-ordinator

No matter what the mountain weather conditions throw at us, Hugues makes sure that our beer reaches our customers. After spending several years working behind a screen in Canada, he returned home to the Alps looking for a more active role and joined us in 2023. Hugues is a true lover of wide, open spaces and the mountains and a real fan of good beer. Thanks to his energy, our beers always reach their destination. Favorite beer: Tropical Smoothie IPA.

Calum Carmichael

Venues Manager

With over ten years of experience opening and managing some of the world's best craft beer bars - from Scotland to New Zealand - from Brewdog to Liberty - Calum knows the craft beer scene better than most and joined us in Chamonix to not only run our current Basecamp bar, but to help us extend our venues beyond Chamonix. His knowledge and insight are key to the growth of Big Mountain. In-between wearing shorts in all weathers, Calum is keen on sailing and snowboarding. The lack of ocean here in Chamonix tips the scales in favour of the snowboard. Favorite beer: Rye IPA

Olga Szablicka

Assistant Venues Manager

Olga makes sure our Basecamp operation runs smoothly. Originally from Poland, she brought her energy to Chamonix in search of new adventures. She’s now swapped road marathons for trail running and reignited a long-standing passion for snowboarding. Always up for trying something new, she can usually be found tearing up the trails, halfway up a multi-pitch climb or dancing the night away. A lover of rhythm and movement, her biggest passion is traditional West African djembe and dance. Favourite beer: Freeride Blanche (of course).

Hugo Roger

Bar Manager, Big Mountain Basecamp

Hugo manages our bar at Big Mountain Basecamp, making sure every fresh pint is poured to perfection. From inventory to customer experience, he takes care of all the big details. With a background in retail, he first discovered Big Mountain relaxing after work and quickly fell in love with our beers. Outside the bar, you’ll discover him cycling and hiking in the mountains ideally before enjoying a scenic beer. Favourite beer: close call between NEIPA and IPA

Alastair Derry

Head Chef, Big Mountain Basecamp

Alastair is Head Chef at Big Mountain Basecamp, where he created our exciting new Basecamp menu to refuel people after days in the mountains. After working in kitchens around the world, he brought his passion for quality, locally-sourced ingredients back home to Chamonix. A fan of long, challenging trail races, he’s right at home in the mountains - and always happy to earn his post-run (alcohol-free) pint. Favourite drink: Houbl’eau

Amandine Gouin

Office Administrator

Originally from Grenoble, Amandine moved to the US as a child, then returned to her native France after high school. After a period of travelling and mountaineering, she moved to Chamonix in 2013 for a winter ski season and then like many people, has never left. Amandine is the glue that holds the office together, keeping everything organised and running smoothly. Favorite beer : Tropical Smoothie IPA
