Jack’s background is a mix of professional climbing and digital journalism. He’s a qualified International Mountain Guide, and has competed at a national level at rock climbing. His climbing adventures in the US opened his taste buds to the craft beer boom that was happening and the new styles of beer being developed. This beer trend resonated with the outdoor lifestyle community, and he knew he wanted to recreate that in Europe’s mountain paradise of Chamonix. He set to work home-brewing and Big Mountain was born.

With a Master's degree in Brewing Science and Practice, Matt started his career at Robinson's brewery in the North of England where he put his skills to good use brewing 200hl brews of classic cask ales. Looking to further his experience and knowledge, he moved to the exciting craft brewery of To Øl in Denmark where he learned to brew the weird and the wonderful. He is mixing those skills here at Big Mountain to produce our range of approachable modern classics and also pushing our boundaries with some cutting edge recipes. Favourite beer : Micro IPA
A passionate rock climber and skier, Joe joined Big Mountain first working in our Chamonix Bar, turning his hand not only to slinging beers but also to making pizzas. He moved down to the brewery after a few months and started his beer career delivering before moving up through the ranks to assistant brewer. Joe knocks out consistently good brews and has a great grasp of both our kit and the overall brewing process. Where will he grow to next? Watch this space!

Greg has been working in beer for years, from delivering casks of ale in the UK, managing pubs, brewing on a small kit in the cellar of one of those pubs and now brewing for us here at Big Mountain. Always with a smile, his steady and chilled presence is always a joy on the brewery floor.

With over ten years of experience opening and managing some of the world's best craft beer bars - from Scotland to New Zealand - from Brewdog to Rogue - Calum knows the craft beer scene better than most and joins us in Chamonix to not only run our current bar, but to help us extend our venues beyond Chamonix. His knowledge and insight are key to the growth of Big Mountain. In between wearing shorts in all weathers and getting his heart broken by beautiful red heads, Calum is keen on sailing and snowboarding. The lack of ocean here in Chamonix might tip the scales in favour of the snowboard!
